Kid’s Director

The CBC Kids Director is responsible for furthering the mission of CBC Richmond Hill through their leadership and care of the CBC Kids Ministry. This role partners with parents of CBC to equip children to become disciples of Jesus.

An effective CBC Kids Director will develop and implement children’s programming throughout the year that ignites a genuine desire for a relationship with Christ among children at our church (infants through fifth grade) through Bible-based learning, fun activities, and engaging worship. A successful candidate will be able to grow CBC Kids by recruiting, leading, and equipping a team of volunteers to teach, shepherd, and care for the children of CBC Richmond Hill.

Essential Functions: 

Leadership of CBC Kids

●      Providing clear leadership, vision, and direction for CBC Kids

●      Selecting a Gospel-centered curriculum and programming that aligns with CBC’s mission and vision that is age appropriate, engaging, and effective for discipling children

●      Organizing and communicating with volunteers so that there are the proper number of trained and qualified leaders in each classroom

●      Maintaining a smooth and straightforward check-in process that is welcoming to guests

●      Ensuring child safety and emergency policies are regularly reviewed and followed in all classrooms

●      Regularly praying for all CBC kids, families, and volunteers

●      Collaborate in the planning, development, and leadership of a mid-week children’s ministry program to run alongside adult discipleship

Partnering with CBC Parents

●      Build relationships with the families who bring their children to CBC Kids

●      Equip, support, and encourage parents towards disciple-making in the home

●      Regularly communicate with parents regarding CBC Kids schedule, updates, and events

●      Follow up with families that have extended periods of absence

●      Welcome new families into CBC Kids and assist in their connection to CBC

Recruitment and Development of CBC Kids Volunteers

●      Recruit new volunteers on a consistent basis, teaching them both the tasks and mission of CBC Kids

●      Oversee the scheduling of CBC Kids volunteers

●      Coordinate and lead CBC Kids volunteer trainings

●      Observe, evaluate, and affirm leaders and teachers in order to help them understand their strengths and to encourage them in areas where improvement is possible

●      Lead the volunteers in love and appreciation in effort to avoid burnout

●      Build a group of committed CBC Kids Coordinators and leadership team

●      Monitor the spiritual health of volunteer leaders

Additional Responsibilities

●      Prepare and maintain the CBC Kids budget

●      Create Policies and Procedures as necessary for CBC Kids

●      Develop an assimilation process for new CBC Kids volunteers that includes background checks

●      Maintain the church database as it pertains to CBC Kids

●      Oversee the baptism process for CBC Kids

●      Provide CBC Kids programming when needed at church-wide events (Christmas, Easter, Worship Nights, etc.)

Staff Responsibilities

●      Attend bi-weekly staff meetings

●      Attend bi-weekly leadership development trainings

●      Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with supervisor

●      Participate in connecting with current members and guests, guiding them into biblical community

●      Work with staff on management, training, strategic planning, and goal setting

●      Help plan and execute church-wide events

●      Willing to step into member care if needed
