About the Ministry

The Church of the Ascension is committed to pursuing, welcoming, and deeply investing in the spiritual formation of children and youth. There is a vibrant Kids’ Church, and youth participate in leading their youngest brothers and sisters in Christ. Youth (grades six to 12) gather on Sunday evenings, enjoy seasonal youth events, and participate in an annual youth mission trip.

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader in family ministry who can envision, create, and support a vibrant ministry to children, youth, and their families.

Key Responsibilities
– Recruit and equip a team of volunteers to serve in children’s and youth ministries.

– Design and implement a comprehensive Family Ministries program aligned with the church’s mission and values.

– Develop a long-range plan for faith formation for children and youth.

– Build relationships with Ascension Day School families and create opportunities for them to connect with parish events and programs.

Qualifications
– A love for Jesus and commitment to the church’s mission

– Strong biblical knowledge

– 3-5 years of experience building sustainable ministries

– Demonstrated ability to recruit and lead volunteer teams

– Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
